How to Wear Pantone’s 2021 Color Of The Year, Ultimate Gray, and Illuminating Yellow!

Sharing is caring!

It’s always fun to predict what Pantone’s color of the year will be, but I don’t think anyone could have predicted their choice for the 2021 color of the year… Because they chose two colors instead of one! This is only the second time in Pantone‘s history of selecting it’s Color of The Year that they have selected two colors (the first time was for 2016’s Rose Quartz and Serenity).

2021 color of the year

How did they decide on these two colors for the 2021 color of the year?

Essentially, the two colors chosen for 2021 are to represent hopefulness and stability. PANTONE 17-5104 Ultimate Gray symbolizes solid and dependable elements, which provide a firm foundation, and PANTONE 13-0647 Illuminating is a bright and cheerful yellow, signifying the optimistic hope of brighter days ahead!

We love the sentiment that goes into selecting Pantone’s color of the year. We do hope that, like Ultimate Gray and Illuminating, that 2021 brings us renewed stability and uplifting energy!
