Anne Hathaway has been in more than one iconic movie that defined the Millennial generation, and two of them celebrated major anniversaries this year. In short, we all feel very old.
This summer, The Princess Diaries (2001) rang in 20 years and The Devil Wears Prada (2006) celebrated its 15-year anniversary.
Hathaway marked both anniversaries in her own special way:
“#TFW The Princess Diaries turns 20 the same year The Devil Wears Prada turns 15,” she wrote, before referencing both projects’ iconic lines:
Shut up!
That’s all.”
She also posted about each movie on her grid individually. This week, she announced the Lollipop Theater’s fundraiser for which the prize is a Zoom meet-and-greet with Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Stanley Tucci, and Emily Blunt.
“Excited to share that we’re a part of @lollipoptheater's #TheDevilWearsPrada fundraiser, auctioning off a Zoom meet-and-greet with myself, Meryl, Emily, and Stanley, with proceeds going toward’s Lollipop Theater's mission to bring current movies and entertainment to children in hospitals nationwide due to chronic or life-threatening illnesses,” she wrote. “You can check out the auction at the link in my bio. That’s all ?
P.S. Finding a picture of the 4 of us together proved to be difficult, so I took matters into my own hands ?”
Hathaway included everyone in the clearly PhotoShopped image (catch Blunt as Mary Poppins):
“Miracles happen… Happy 20th Birthday to #theprincessdiaries, AKA the film that launched a thousand sleep overs ?,” she wrote of her first film.
Last year Hathaway revealed on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, that there is script for Princess Diaries 3 and that she and Julie Andrews are in—with the caveat that the writing is “perfect.”
