Last week, the best beauty looks as seen on African and Black women were enough to take any breath away. It’s a known fact that Black women have always been at
the top of their beauty game and in the past, they have influenced beauty cultures globally. Last week, these trendsetters and go-getters of our time did not disappoint.
Makeup
While it seemed as though nude looks stole the show, we could see that these beauties let their eyes and lips do the talking for the most part. For example, Nigerian TV presenter Bolanle Olukanni let her vibrant personality through with the burgundy smokey eyes she opted for. On the other hand, social media influencer Adedamola Adewale, also known as Adeherself, chose minted green to line her waterline in a move that made her entire look pop.
Hair
Last week, African inspired hairdos were well represented in the beauty category. Firstly, Gabrielle Union was seen sporting bold braids with sleek edges as she took a trip to Vegas. Nigerian actress Nancy Isime went down south as she represented a typical Edo bride in her full regalia complete with the okuku hairstyle worn by traditional brides. It was truly inspiring to see African beauty looks pick inspiration from the black continent.
