Katy Perry celebrated her 37th birthday yesterday, and her fiancé Orlando Bloom gave his Instagram followers an intimate look at how they marked the day. Bloom posted a photo of him
and Perry having an affectionate moment during a dinner out together. His caption offered a rare look at their private dynamic—and his feelings for her. “We do life we do love and it’s fun. I’ll celebrate you today and everyday. ??✨I love you. ❤️ ❤️ ❤️” he wrote.
Perry spoke about Bloom's place in her life just weeks ago at Variety's Power of Women event. Perry was an honoree there, and on stage, she gave Bloom a shoutout, via E!. She called him her “beloved partner and constant iron sharpener.”
“A man that is a friend and an ally to women all around the world,” she continued of Bloom. “Thank you for handling the insanity of my life with such loving grace. And biggest thank you of all for being an incredible father and example to our greatest gift ever, our daughter Daisy Dove.”
Last December, Perry spoke to ELLE UK about how she and Bloom's relationship became stronger while quarantining amid the coronavirus pandemic. “2020 is a year that makes or breaks people, as far as relationships go,” she said. “The good thing is that Orlando and I both want to win in love. We’re leaning into our tools.” The two, for example, both practice meditation.
Becoming a mother to their daughter Daisy fundamentally changed Perry, she added: “I made a conscious decision to become a mother, but I didn’t know until I became a mother that you have to strike a balance,” she said. “[Motherhood is] all the clichés and more. Let me tell you as someone who has done and seen everything, there’s nothing better than having a beautiful, pure child. They’re just the epitome of love.”
