Last Week, The Best Dressed Stars Put A Festive Spin On High Fashion Glam
From book launches and movie premiers in the United States, to the birthday celebration of one of Nigeria’s top actresses, last week was heavy on events and fashion. True to the festive
vibe, Black women celebrities took their style to the max with colorful dresses, designer picks, and enough sculptural embellishment to fill a museum exhibit.
The Looks
As Zendaya arrived at Spiderman: No Way Home’s London photo call, she did so in a high slit look that alluded to the Marvel superhero himself. Dressed in a Valentino spider web dress with plunging neckline —as well as teardrop gems that swung playfully as she moved—Zendaya was at her outré best. If the arachnid theme wasn’t evident from her outfit, she hammered the concept with the addition of a pair of black stilettos.
Nigerian actress Ini Edo, meanwhile, opted for a purple mini dress look from Medlin Couture’s collection showing us how to look breathtaking in an above-the-knee dress for her friend and colleague, Nancy Isime’s 30th birthday party. Stately with an attention-grabbing faux feather wrapped around the lower part of the dress and an embellishment with gems, the richly detailed gown highlighted the new mom Ini’s style as she provided a new glimpse of her style.
With all the events that took place last week, the race for best dressed has never been more competitive. Last week you couldn’t open a website or scroll through social media without seeing an attention-grabbing outfit worn by Black women celebrities with great style.
