hen the lights are turned off, effective navigation poses certain difficulties. In the same vein, when fashionable Black ladies are missing from the style scenes, things appear noticeably incomplete. From Lagos
to Los Angeles, Last week, Black celebs and top influencers set the tone for seasonal fashion in glamorous pieces, flamboyant regalia, and self-asserting attires. From award shows like the Daily Front Row Awards to The Real Housewives Of Lagos’ official premiere, style stars made dressing up a fine art and none missed a thing.
The looks
The pleasant twists and turns fashion designers take ensure that while fashion remains cyclic, every new design has a cutting edge. Style star Lori Harvey made an ultimate case for a two-toned Raisa Vanessa mini blazer dress, and chic isn’t a befitting word. Whenever you choose simplistic and fabulous, knock on Harvey’s sartorial doors for style inspiration.
Among many coverable traits, actress Tracee Ellis Ross prides herself on being comfortable in her skin, and that’s an obvious and unarguable fact. Furthermore, the talented actress might also be confident in another type of skin, especially when it’s transformed into high-end pieces like the Bottega Veneta alligator skin dress we spotted on her. Ross was seen on Instagram in a celebratory mood in honor of ABC’s Blackish in this interesting print dress and matching boots. While the bathtub in the background held on to her woven Bottega purse, Ross’ ruched boots added spice to an already sizzling look. We are signing up as her agents if she ever considers modeling again.
Trust Africans to bring full-on elegance to otherwise basic meetups. South African beauty influencer Mihlali Ndamase sent blue on an assignment and the hue came out in flying colors. The star looked the part in a stunning blue dress by South African designer Keys Fashion. The frock boasted of rich detailing, the kind which gave off a whimsical blend commensurate to the glamorous masterpiece that is Mihlali. The high slit, frills, and dropping embellishments all made Ndamase stand out like precious stones would in the midst of mere rocks.
