Meghan Markle did her first event of the year today, attending the pre-game reception for the Invictus Games in The Hague, the Netherlands. The Duchess of Sussex dressed sharply, wearing an
all-white suit with her hair down in soft waves. She accessorized with a white purse and gold pendant necklace.
Meghan's appearance today comes after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's rep confirmed yesterday that the couple met the Queen in person together in Windsor ahead of their trip to the Netherlands. Their meeting with the Queen—and reportedly Prince Charles too—marks the first face-to-face meeting both Meghan and Harry have had with Queen Elizabeth II since March 2020. That was when Meghan and Harry did their last event as working senior royal family members and before the coronavirus pandemic heavily restricted international travel.

Meghan and Harry did not offer any comment beyond their rep's statement that Harry had “hoped to” meet his grandmother in person.
Harry spoke to Oprah in March 2021 about how close he is with the Queen. “I've spoken more to my grandmother in the last year than I have [in] many, many years,” he said. “My grandmother and I have a really good relationship and understanding, and I have deep respect for her.”
The games will run from April 16 to 22. Harper's Bazaar reported that Meghan is expected to spend the first few days of the competition with Harry, while Harry will stay in The Hague for the full duration of the games. What exact events Meghan will be attending has not been revealed yet.
