Ariana Grande is getting married. The singer announced on her Instagram this afternoon that she and Dalton Gomez, who were first seen together in February, are engaged. The singer showed off
her pearl and diamond ring from him, writing, "forever n then some."
Grande has kept her relationship with Gomez, a Los Angeles real estate agent, largely private on purpose. In April, she wrote, "Sharing special, personal life things that make u happy on the internet can be truly traumatic. I know I’ve taken a step back from doing so to protect my loved ones and myself."
But she has shared glimpses of their life here and there on Instagram, last sharing a kissing photo of them at the beginning of December. The two have been quarantining together, and Grande hinted that she and Gomez were serious in her songs "POV" ("I wanna love me (Ooh)/The way that you love me (Ooh)/Ooh, for all of my pretty/And all of my ugly too/I'd love to see me from your point of view") and "Positions" (Heaven sent you to me/I'm just hopin’ I don't repeat history/Boy, I'm tryna meet your mama on a Sunday").
The couple were first seen together around Valentine's Day, although Gomez wasn't identified at the time. It's unclear how long Grande and Gomez were together before their first February sighting. By the time TMZ confirmed Gomez's identity in late March, the outlet was told by sources that the two had been together privately for "several months."
But there has been reporting that Grande and Gomez really are very serious. In late August, a source told Us Weekly that “Ariana sees something different in Dalton that she has never seen before in guys she has previously dated." The outlet added that they have "fallen madly in love with each other."
“He is the type of guy she has been looking for,” the source added. “He’s very protective of her, will go out of his way for her and does little things that are chivalrous. Dalton will go above and beyond to meet her needs.”
