The search for a shampoo alternative originates from the No-Poo Routine—which was popularized by bloggers and influencers who decided to not use detergent products on their hair and scalp. Many, however, prefer
to have some kind of washing agent at their disposal and as a result, products like New Wash by Hairstory capture attention.
The direct-to-consumer brand offers a sulfate and paraben-free shampoo alternative that is non-foaming and made with natural ingredients. The fact that the product cleans without detergent is extremely important as many are unaware that "[traditional] shampoo overcleans and strips away [the] body's natural protective oil barrier."
