Best known for its Centella Green Level Safe Sun, PURITO has developed a strong following for its dedication to producing 100% vegan, cruelty-free and pregnancy-safe products. All of its lines are formulated with natural, organic ingredients, and free from harmful chemicals such as ethanol, paraben, PEG, mineral oil, propylene glycol and silicone.
As temperatures fall, I’m looking for new ways to nourish and strengthen my skin – and what better way to do so than to finally try out this raved-about brand! I chose two products from PURITO’s centella series, both of which are made entirely of EWG Green Level ingredients safe for sensitive skin.
Centella Green Level Recovery Cream
This highly concentrated facial cream is infused with 50% centella asiatica extract, niacinamide, madecassic acid, asiaticoside and asiatic acid to strengthen the skin barrier, reduce the appearance of acne scars, soothe inflamed and sensitive skin, shrink pores, and leave skin moisturized and supple. Unlike other cica creams, it comes in a relatively lightweight texture that is easily absorbed into skin to avoid clogging pores.
I was attracted to the recovery cream’s diverse range of skin care benefits. I don’t have inflamed or sensitive skin, but I have long struggled with acne scars and enlarged pores. The cream boasts excellent water-retention capability to control inner dryness, as well as promises to slow down the skin’s aging process and stimulate collagen formation. As I near my mid-20s, I’ve started to notice some signs of aging and dehydrated skin, so these benefits are all appealing bonuses.
This white-colored cream has a natural herbal scent that should be familiar to those who have tried other centella products. It goes on super smoothly, feels gentle on skin, and leaves a glowy finish. The texture was slightly thicker than expected. I was initially worried about applying foundation over it and saved it for nighttime use exclusively. When I finally ventured into daytime use, I was pleased to discover that my foundation went on more seamlessly than usual. The cream felt super nourishing on skin immediately after use. During the trial period, pigmentation faded and my skin not only became more hydrated but also stronger and healthier.
Centella Green Level Eye Cream
This mild, anti-aging eye cream is infused with 49% centella asiatica, four kinds of peptide extract, panthenol and hyaluronic acid to care for the delicate skin around the eyes. The formula is designed to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines to create youthful-looking skin. It also forms a moisture barrier to calm redness, soothes sensitive skin, enhances elasticity, protects against environmental stressors and increases regeneration to create radiant skin.
The eye cream is highly moisturizing and easily absorbed into skin. It shares the same scent as the recovery cream and embodies a similar texture, although its consistency is slightly thinner and more liquidy. It feels equally gentle and hydrating on skin. Unlike other eye creams that might be oily, this one is supposed to prevent makeup from caking. It can also be used on other areas of the face where you have wrinkles. I don’t have wrinkles under my eyes yet, so this is more a preventative measure. However, I do have dark under-eye circles, and I hoped that the cream would work its magic on them.
I’m usually so preoccupied with targeting acne and pigmentation that I tend to neglect the skin under my eyes. During the past week and a half, I’ve enjoyed treating this area with some TLC, and am pleased to see it becoming firmer and brighter. It’s a great reminder of the importance of caring for my skin, even the areas that seem problem-free, to maintain its condition for the years down the road.
