living proof of this earlier this week while running errands in New York. 

For the occasion, she wore a pair of slim-fitting, low-rise sweatpants (comfortable), black leather Birkenstock sandals (also comfortable), and a tank top in this season's It color: bubblegum pink. 

People always have a lot to say about low-rise anything, and they also have a lot to say about "ugly" sandals, but both have become mainstream these days, so why not wear them together? To add to the trendiness, add a dose of bright pink à la Holmes.
