StockX reports surging Crocs resale demand in UK
May 14, 2021
There’s been a lot of talk about Crocs being hot again in recent months and
it seems that doesn’t only apply to brand new versions. StockX, the global resale platform for sneakers, streetwear, and collectibles said that in the UK, it has seen sales of the sandals rising five-fold compared to this time last year. Key collaborations have proved especially popular.
Of course, a year ago, the UK was firmly in lockdown and footwear was one of the weaker categories as normal life was largely put on hold.
But the company said that as lockdown restrictions ease and more people venture out of their homes, “the sandals are the perfect shoe allowing wearers to experience the level of comfort they have become accustomed to while stuck indoors”.
But the shoes also seemed to be popular during lockdown, defying the wider downturn in the footwear market.
StockX said that the top traded Crocs from January to April this year was the Classic Clog Justin Bieber with Drew House 2 Lavender.
That was followed by the Classic Clog Justin Bieber, the Duet Max 2 Post Malone Black, the Classic Clog Grateful Dead x Chinatown Market, and the Duet Max 2 Post Malone Pink.
As well as the most popular styles, some have been fetching higher prices with the most expensive Crocs during the four month-period being the Classic Clog Pleasures Utopia Dystopia at £257.13.
Meanwhile, the Classic Clog Bad Bunny has come in at £191.96 and the All-terrain Clog Carrots at £115.46.
