YouTube's first ever Beauty Fest features Gwyneth Paltrow, Addison Rae and others

Friday, the streaming platform will broadcast this virtual event that will allow viewers to get advice, but also to discuss more serious topics, all themed around beauty.
This Friday, May 14, starting at 1 pm U.S. West Coast time, YouTube will launch its first-ever YouTube Beauty Festival," presented by YouTube Originals on the Fashion & Beauty channel.
"#BeautyFest won't just be about tips and tutorials (though we love those too!). We've brought together beauty creators, industry professionals and public figures to speak to today's hottest trends, with a diverse mix of professional perspectives. They'll enlighten all of us on a variety of industry-specific subjects -- from incredibly insightful beauty, wellness and health tips to important conversations about amplifying diversity and equity across the beauty landscape," outlined Derek Blasberg, Director of Fashion + Beauty at YouTube, and Chanel Tyler, Creator Lead, Beauty on the official YouTube blog officiel, accompanied by a preview video of the event.
A host of stars
For this event, YouTube is going big. Users will be able to watch a discussion between actress Gwyneth Paltrow and TikTok star Addison Rae about social networking, mental health and beauty tips. The "Iron Man" actress will even surprise the young influencer with the ultimate '90s-style makeover, YouTube said.
Selena Gomez will also surprise designer Melissa Alatorre, who was invited to be made up by the makeup artist of the stars, Hung Vanngo, with Rare Beauty products. The young singer and creator of the makeup brand will take her brushes to make up the influencer herself.
Pharrell Williams will share his secrets for flawless skin while Patrick Starrr will take part in a discussion looking back on the past year and the resilience of beauty brands, consumers and fans.
Jen Atkin, the Kardashian sisters' hairstylist, will challenge TikTok star Noah Beck to do a hairstyle on twins.
In addition to the many events already planned and announced on the YouTube blog, Beauty Fest will also launch a discussion around the Asian community and the hashtag #StopAsianHate by focusing on their identity both in their private lives and on YouTube.
