Kylie Jenner, the American model, media personality and businesswomen famous for her hit Lip
target="_blank" title="Kits">Kits, has reportedly made trademark filings for “Kylie Swim” and “Kylie Swim by Kylie Jenner,” hinting at plans to launch a swimwear brand.
Filed with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on May 7 and cited by PageSix.com, the trademark applications cover swimwear and a range of related products, including cover-ups, headwear, tops, bottoms, footwear, robes, sunglasses, towels, outdoor blankets, beach bags and even swim goggles.
23-year-old Jenner made her entrepreneurial debut with Kylie Cosmetics in 2015. The brand quickly gained a cult following for its highly sought-after Lip Kits and has since expanded to cover all makeup categories.
2019 saw the launch of skincare line Kylie Skin, as well as the acquisition of a 51% majority stake in Kylie Cosmetics by American beauty conglomerate Coty, which paid out $600 million for the transaction, valuing the company at $1.2 billion.
Jenner has also previously launched the Kendall + Kylie lifestyle label with older sister Kendall. Kylie Swim, however, would be the first solo fashion venture for the Keeping up with the Kardashians star.
Whether or not the brand will actually come to be is another matter. Jenner made filings for trademarks including “Kylie Body,” “Kylie Baby” and “Kylie Hair” in 2019, none of which have materialized as actual brands yet.
Earlier this year, Kylie’s mother, Kris Jenner, filed applications for the “Kris Jenner Beauty,” “Kris Jenner Skin” and “Kris Jenner Skincare” trademarks, suggesting that she may have a cosmetics brand of her own in the pipeline.
