What Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt's Relationship Is Actually Like Now: 'They Laugh Off' Romance Rumors
Exes Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt dominated the news cycle when they acted alongside each other in the Fast Times at Ridgemont High table reading last week. Earlier this year, they
just about broke the internet when they had an affectionate moment backstage at the SAG Awards. And behind the scenes, a source tells Us Weekly, the two have really become close friends—and just friends only. (Aniston is single while Pitt is "casually" dating German model Nicole Poturalski.)
The romance reconciliation talk used to really bother Pitt and Aniston, who were married from 2000 to 2005, Us's source said. But they've gotten over that now.
“It used to bug them how everyone pulls for them to get back together, but now they laugh it off,” the source said. "The truth is they have each other’s backs. They constantly bounce ideas off each other and share happy news when they have it. They have such a natural, easy energy together."
The two would love to work together again when the time is right—but they're wary of how their relationship is perceived. "They don’t want to milk this ‘friendly exes’ dynamic they’ve got going on too much,” the source said. "They’re both very mindful of that."
Back in December 2019, a source told Us Weeklythat while Aniston and Pitt aren't dating, they've had flirty moments. “Brad and Jen have a wonderful connection that might seem flirtatious at times,” the outlet's source said. “They dig each other’s sense of humor and have an infectious energy when they’re together, but they insist things are purely platonic and nothing more than that.”
In January 2020, after Aniston and Pitt's SAG reunion, a source told Peoplethat seriously, Aniston and Pitt are only friends. Aniston "is not dating Brad," the source flat-out said. "They are friends and happy for each other. They want nothing but happiness for each other. She is happy to have Brad back in her life as a friend, but that’s it."
