Kris Jenner Has Been Trying to Smooth Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's Relationship
In the past month, the co-parenting relationship between Kim Kardashian and her ex, Kanye West, has taken a difficult turn. Kardashian filed for divorce in February of 2021, and for most
of the year it seemed as though things were proceeding amicably. Then in November, West began to become very vocal about wanting a reconciliation with Kardashian. The beauty mogul, however, is dating comedian Pete Davidson and West has become increasingly accusatory about how Kardashian is handling custody over their four children, North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm.
A source close to the situation told US Weekly that Kardashian's mother, Kris Jenner, is doing her best to broker peace between the former couple.
“The other Kardashians are [supporting Kim] — they’re all there for each other,” they said. “Kris is really the only one who still has a relationship with Kanye...She always has and she’s the peacemaker when no one else will speak to him.”
On Friday, February 4, West posted about his disapproval of their 8-year-old daughter, North, having a shared TikTok with Kardashian.
In her own Instagram message, Kardashian responded by writing, “Kanye’s constant attacks on me in interviews and on social media is actually more hurtful than any TikTok North might create. As the parent who is the main provider and caregiver for our children, I am doing my best to protect our daughter while also allowing her to express her creativity in the medium that she wishes with adult supervision — because it brings her happiness.”
She added, “Divorce is difficult enough on our children and Kanye’s obsession with trying to control and manipulate our situation so negatively and publicly is only causing further pain for all.”
She concluded that she “wanted nothing but a healthy and supportive coparenting relationship.”
