Last Week, The Best Dressed Stars Mastered The Expression Of Femininity
When it comes to delivering fashion hits, stylish Black women around the world can be relied on. From stunning in all-black ensembles to going for a ride on the color wheel, these
ladies can easily be tagged showstoppers in their own right. Whether that’s a red carpet entrance or a simple “felt cute, might delete later” moment, they repeatedly deliver on the assignment and the result is always a sight to behold.
As we slowly glide through Black history month, Black celebrities, influencers, and bloggers are utilizing their platforms to educate, sensitize and serve interesting looks that showcase the beauty of all that is Black.
The looks
There’s a myth about cats having nine lives and this probably explains why Halle Berry seems youthful and full-of-life every time we spot her on and off-screen. “Catwoman” showcased her toned legs in a mini Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini dress and Maya Lakis pumps at the Moonfall movie premiere. That’s how you walk the red carpet: poise, sass, and confidence.
We are in politically correct times and one of the changes we’ve come to see is the color pink being accepted by all genders. Notwithstanding, the hue still brings it’s feminine touch to the table. Don’t believe us? Just watch singer Chloe Bailey pose in a pink-themed silk Atelier Biser bomber jacket and matching Alexandre Vauthier pants, as she stands tall in Dolce and Gabbana platform heels. Yup, she’s that girl!
Over in Nigeria, Nollywood actress Osas Ighodaro definitely out-gowned everyone at the Future Face Africa event which was held in Lagos, Nigeria as she stunned in a black 2207 by Tolu Bally number. Soulmates are believed to complement each other and if we could breathe life into this dress, we would. The lace details at the top, the waist cinching corset, and layers of fabric arranged orderly to rest on her hips while the rest bowed at her feet to form a minute train was beyond charming.
The styles shared by Black celebrities and top fashion influencers last week were nothing short of chic, edgy, and glamorous, and it’s safe to say that we are, as usual, living vicariously through them. Black style queens.
