Last Week, Black Men Asserted Style Dominance With Both Effortless And Daring Takes
For the world’s most stylish, there is no such thing as a “style slowdown.” Last week, for example, there was a full slate of events ranging from New York Fashion Week, football
and basketball games, business meetings; a streetstyle galore, essentially. For fashion-minded Black men, the busy schedule offered the opportunity to get bolder with their style while exploring the line between effortless and daring.
The Looks
Running errands and attending meetings seem to be the usual for Nigerian-based fashion designer, Adebayo Oke-Lawal. One thing the designer never does is step out of his house looking basic. Last week, he leaned into an all black ensemble in a black Orange Culture jumpsuit with long sleeves, double breast pockets, and a draping belt made from the same fabric as the overall – precisely what the fashion doctor would call a statement making piece. He complemented the one-piece with a pair of black leather boots and a pair of clear sunglasses with a black frame.
Fashion Week might be happening in New York at the moment but the streets of Paris also graced some amazing outfits. Parisian influencer Shannon Flaunder turned the streets of France into a museum of modern art in his beautifully crafted sweater which was layered with a powder blue two-piece trench coat and wide leg pants by French fashion brand, MAISON CHÂTEAU ROUGE. Adapting to a singular color tone, the style influencer went with a pair of powder blue and white Nike sneakers and a beanie of the same color. He further accessorized with a white Off White bag.
Every week, Black men around the world answer the question: How can I take a bolder and more modern route with my style? Last week was not an exception. For the world’s most stylish, extraordinary fashion moments can happen anywhere and at any time and they once again proved it.
