Aaron Rodgers Posts Tribute to Shailene Woodley After Breakup Reports: ‘I Love You’
Aaron Rodgers gave his first public comment on Shailene Woodley since reports they ended their engagement broke last week, and it stoked rumors they may be together still or at least
are very amicable exes.
Rodgers wrote, “Here’s some... #MondayNightGratitude for some of the incredibly special people in my life, with some pictures from the last beautiful year.” Then he listed Woodley first: “@shailenewoodley, thanks for letting me chase after you the first couple months after we met, and finally letting me catch up to you and be a part of your life. Thanks for always having my back, for the incredible kindness you show me and everyone you meet, and for showing me what unconditional love looks like, I love you and am grateful for you.” Woodley did not like the post or interact on it.
Woodley hasn't commented on breakup rumors. The two's reps did not deny them, with Woodley's rep not responding to People's request for comment, and Rodgers' rep declining to comment. A source close to Rodgers told Peoplethe couple broke up.
Days later, a source close to Woodley and Rodgers described the surprise couple as destined to not last to People. “They fell hard and fast, but it was a mismatch from the start,” the source said. “Aaron's a complicated guy. No one in their circle is surprised this didn't work out. In the bubble of the pandemic, it was easy for them to fall in love and focus only on their relationship but that's not real life.”
Woodley and Rodgers dated for less than two years before their split. They announced their engagement in February 2021.
