Kate Middleton Was a Modern Princess in a Sapphire Coat Dress for Commonwealth Day
Kate Middleton and Prince William stepped out for one of the British royal family's biggest events of the year, the Commonwealth Day service, and the Duchess committed to monochrome dressing. Kate
wore a Catherine Walker coat dress with a matching fascinator. Her brown hair was styled down for the elegant look. William complemented Kate in a navy suit and light blue tie.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's appearance comes shortly after William was seen off duty taking their six-year-old daughter Princess Charlotte to a classmate's birthday party in London. Charlotte went to a pizza party for a fellow Thomas Batterseas student at the Italian restaurant Il Pagliaccio.
Daily Mailgot rare details about Charlotte and William's arrival and how different it had to be from other guests' to ensure their safety.
The outlet reported that William dropped Charlotte off at the party. Italian newspaper La Stampa obtained footage of their entrance that showed the duo coming out of one of three SUVs that stopped in front of the venue. Several bodyguards entered the restaurant first, then Charlotte and William followed, with Charlotte “confidently” walking through ahead of her dad, the Daily Mail wrote.
William followed, “carrying a large gift wrapped in pink paper, before returning several hours later to pick her up,” the Daily Mail added.
William and Kate have been able to keep their children largely out of the spotlight and protect their privacy. They do share rare glimpses of their children on the kids' birthdays, though. Prince Louis' is next, and the family will likely continue their tradition of sharing photos Kate took of the youngest royal when he turns 4 on April 23.
