Lululemon's First Ever Running Shoe Is Here and Available to Shop Now
If you thought your sneaker collection was at its peak, think again. Today one of the leading brands in athletic wear, Lululemon, is releasing its first foray into footwear with the
brand's first-ever running shoe, Blissfeel.
The launch comes after four years of research and testing, designed for the female body in mind. "We intentionally started with women first because we saw an opportunity to solve for the fact that, more often than not, performance shoes are designed for men and then adapted for women," said Sun Choe, Lululemon's Chief Product Officer in a press release.
Over one million foot scans were taken from numerous testers to gain an idea of what the ideal pair of footwear for women would look like. Thus, the Blissfeel was born, a running shoe with major underfoot foam cushioning for maximum comfort yet an upper ankle design to guarantee security on the toughest running terrains. Available in 10 colors, from a cool neutral gray to an upbeat neon green and pink combo, there's a style for everyone.
If you're looking to test out the newness for yourself, the running shoe is available for purchase for a cool $148 starting at 3 p.m. ET. As someone who has experienced the glory that is Lululemon's new footwear, I recommend sizing up if your foot tends to run on the wider side. If not, your normal size should do the trick.
And if running isn't exactly your forte? Don't fret. Three other footwear designs from Lululemon are set to release later this year.
Be on the lookout this summer for the Chargefeel, a cross-training shoe ideal for the gym and short runs, available in a mid and low-rise rise ankle option, and the Restfeel, a slide perfect for post-workouts or a quick errand. Come fall, the final shoe in the collection will be released, otherwise known as the Strongfeel, a training shoe with a multi-directional movement.
