Last Week, The Best Dressed Men Were Appealing In Tailored And Casual Finesse
While the formality of award season can be very limiting, last week, anyone who was not preparing for the Grammy Awards just wanted to have fun with their looks. We saw a
slew of Black men in maximalist tailoring in evening wear, an array of restrained black ties, and of course, a few next-level casual finesses that left us mesmerized.
The Looks
Leading the charge was television host Steve Harvey who announced to the world his arrival at the top vacation destination, Abu Dhabi in a dapper fit. Clad in pieces from Louis Vuitton Spring 2022 collection designed by the late Virgil Abloh and released posthumously, the energetic star was all modish as he walked down in what seemed to be his lodge in the colorful number. The ensemble, which featured a pair of eggplant-colored pants, a mountain top-print jacket worn over a camp collar shirt of the same print, and a pair of glossy boots was precisely the kind of bright, bubbly fashion we have come to expect from the “Family Feud” star.
NBA player Thanasis Antetokounmpo’s style is just as recognizable as his gameplay, and when the Milwaukee Bucks player took over New York City last week, the athlete selected a look that was guaranteed to turn heads. An arresting piece of an asymmetric, multi-fabric overcoat from Los Angeles-based brand The Incorporated worn over a black t-shirt and a pair of caramel color wide-leg pants from brand Back of House provided the right amount of vivacity. Though Thanasis toned down the look’s fieriness by adding a pair of black Converse Chuck Taylor 70s low-top sneakers and a black baseball hat from Kill The Hype LA, there was no masking its effortlessly stylish nature. Black men evening wear
As the week went by, fashionable Black men indulged in outfits that prioritized color, texture, and vibrancy. In doing so, they presented options and inspiration to those keeping an eye out.
