Please Add Book Narrator to Blue Ivy Carter's Extensive Resume
For an eight year old, Blue Ivy—singer, makeup extraordinaire, BET award winner, and Beyoncé's "manager"—has a resume that looks better than most adults. For her next trick, the generous star is
lending her voice to narrate children's books.
On Monday morning, Oscar award winner Matthew Cherry made the world stop with no words, just a tweet with a link to an Audible audiobook version of his famous children's book Hair Love and a short clip of what the audio-only version would sound like. When you press play on the clip, a tiny voice can be heard saying, "Dreamscape Presents: Hair Love by Matthew A Cherry. Narrated by Blue Ivy Carter." Yes, you heard that correctly. The Blue Ivy Carter will be narrating Cherry's Hair Love, which follows father-daughter duo Stephen and Zuri as they attempt to style Zuri's hair for a special occasion while her mother, Angela, is away.

The irony of Cherry choosing Blue Ivy to narrate this children's book about a young girl learning how to love her hair isn't lost on us. "I LOVE that Blue of all people is doing this considering how people used to talk about her hair when she was a baby," one Twitter user wrote following Cherry's subtle announcement. Even the oldest daughter of Beyoncé and Jay-Z was subjected to criticism online for her hair, so much that Beyoncé addressed it in 2016's "Formation," singing, "I like my baby hair, with baby hair and afros." Guess Blue Ivy is having the last laugh now.
