Nonostante Ballarò is the story of the fortuitous encounter between Francesco Bellina and Antonio Marras through social-networks during the lockdown, but it is also the chronicle of two days in September in which the Sardinian designer and artist met the Sicilian photographer—in the place the latter defines home—and lived with him, in a set that is as itinerant as it is alive, open and real.
Nonostante Ballarò (Despite Ballarò) took place in the historic and characteristic neighborhood of the same name in Palermo: it is a project that combines social research and art performance, messes up fashion photography and photojournalism’s standards and approaches with care, respect, irony and no rethoric to a community and its habits and conventions.
