Purveyor of ethically-made cotton basics, Toronto-based brand Kotn has now expanded its offerings into home. Given how much time we’re all spending at home this year, this collection—which includes two bedding sets, a bedspread, a quilted comforter, and tea towels in soothing neutral tones—couldn’t have come at a better time.
Designed in Canada and ethically crafted in Egypt, Kotn’s bed sets are made from 400 thread count 100% Egyptian cotton: “the longest, strongest, softest, and most breathable cotton fibre in the world,” notes the brand. Other items in the Home collection include the handmade Quilted Comforter and Woven Akhmim Bedspread, created using ancient Egyptian craft techniques and philosophies passed down over hundreds of years.
“Home is something we’ve dreamt of launching since the day we started Kotn—it is what Egyptian cotton is famous for, after all!” the brand’s co-founder Mackenzie Yeates said in a release. “Drawing from the earth tones and ancient craft techniques of Egypt, we created this collection to truly evoke that ‘feeling of home.’ That feeling of sleeping in on Sunday morning, wrapped up in a cloud of warm bedding, curling up in front of the fire with a book, and being with the people we love, sheltered from the outside world. Home is so much more than just a place, but an experience.”
Founded in 2015, this socially-conscious Toronto brand sources its raw cotton straight from the farmers in the Nile River Delta and works directly with responsibly-run yarn mills and sewing and dyeing facilities in the region. A certified B Corp, Kotn ensures fair wages and transparency throughout its supply chain.
The Kotn Home collection ranges in price from $35 CAD to $210 CAD and is available to purchase now.
