Demi Lovato's Ex-Fiancé Max Ehrich Posts Petty Comments on Her Instagram About Her PCA Speech
Demi Lovato's ex-fiancé Max Ehrich was able to make it almost a week without saying anything publicly about Lovato's People's Choice Awards monologue where she made a joke about their broken
engagement this past Sunday. Ehrich posted two comments on Lovato's Instagram showing off her new hair cut last night. They're buried in the post and have thus far rightfully been ignored by Lovato.
Ehrich wrote, "stop talking about me on award shows. thanks," and "exploiting our breakup for clout at the PCA is not chill." It comes after Ehrich exploited their breakup on his own Instagram Stories for days, using the opportunity to promote his upcoming movieSouthern Gospel and claim that he learned about it through the tabloids and not Lovato herself. Sources spoke to People and E!, making it clear that's inaccurate. "Demi made Max aware that the relationship was over, and it was going to come out in the press," People's source said.
Lovato ended her engagement to Ehrich after she began doubting his intentions with her. Ehrich and Lovato started dating in March and immediately quarantined together. They got engaged after less than five months of dating. Ehrich's old social media comments lusting after female celebrities like Selena Gomez went viral, with fans worrying he was a clout chaser and wasn't in his relationship with Lovato for the right reasons.
Lovato started to have those doubts herself. "It was very hurtful to Demi when she realized that Max's intentions weren't genuine," a source told People in late September. "Breaking off the engagement was not an easy decision."
The source added that Lovato began to believe that Ehrich was really just ″trying to further his career by using her name behind her back," the source said.
Lovato didn't even give Ehrich a name drop in her PCA monologue, nor did she extensively joke about the engagement. Lovato said:
I am so excited to be here tonight because honestly, this year has been the longest three years of my life. Don't get me wrong, it started out amazing. I performed at the Grammys and sung the National Anthem at the Super Bowl. Thank you! But then COVID hit and everything shut down, so I did what everyone else did, I went into lockdown mode and got engaged. I got into painting, photography, meditation, tested the limits of Postmates Unlimited. I also didn't know this could happen, but I reached the end of Instagram four times. I binged seven seasons of Pretty Little Liars, got unengaged, and then I went looking for aliens in the desert, so basically the same as everyone else.
