Selena Gomez Told BLACKPINK Working With Them Is 'A Big, Big Dream for Me.' Watch Their Adorable Reaction
Selena Gomez and BLACKPINK's big collaboration "Ice Cream" comes out this Friday, and in the days preceding the release, Gomez and BLACKPINK are sharing a little behind the scenes look at
its making—including a personal phone call between Gomez plus Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa, the girls of the K-pop group.
In a clip released of the call, Gomez gushed to the girls about how much she loved them and their music. "Thank you for staying up so early!" she started. (The girls are in Seoul, while Gomez has been quarantining in California.) She then added, "I’m so stoked," she said. "I’ve been a fan of you guys and so like, this is a big, big dream for me, and I can’t wait." BLACKPINK's reaction to Gomez's words, with all the girls exclaiming "Oh my god!" and generally being flustered, was filmed. Watch it below; it's very cute:
Rosé shared footage of the call on her own Instagram, writing, "Sweetest video call with @selenagomez ? Can’t wait for you guys to hear this ?"
Jisoo posted it too, writing, "Let's go?#icecream ?@blackpinkofficial@selenagomez."
Both Gomez and BLACKPINK have also shared some art for the song. Gomez shared two photos of herself presumably being shot for the song's music video.

She also shared a shot of herself eating the new special Serendipity ice cream flavor she helped create in celebration of their song while on the set of the video. "I grew up going to the iconic @serendipity3nyc restaurant so I couldn’t be more excited to join the ownership team," she wrote. "In honor of the release of ICE CREAM with @blackpinkofficial, I created Cookies and Cream Remix… made with pink vanilla ice cream as a nod to the girls!"

Gomez isn't the only U.S. pop star involved with the track, by the way. Ariana Grande and Victoria Monét helped write it.
Grande posted about the song on her Instagram Story at the end of last week. "Proud of the squad," Grande started, adding a heart-eyed and hearts smiley face emoji. "And so excited for this!!! So much love for this team and these ladies!!!!" She then tagged BLACKPINK, Gomez, Monét, and producers Tommy Brown and Steven Franks.
