Why Demi Lovato and Max Ehrich Aren't the 2020 MTV VMAs
Demi Lovato and her new fiancé Max Ehrich didn't make their in-person red carpet debut at the MTV VMAs tonight. The couple opted not to travel to New York City for
the ceremony, instead staying in Los Angeles amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Lovato does have a nomination tonight, for Video for Good ("I Love Me"). Hoody FX has a Best Visual Effects nomination for their work on the music video for "I Love Me," too.
Despite Lovato not posing outdoors in New York for the ceremony (which is being held in various locations across the city due to COVID-19), the singer did post a red carpet-worthy look on her Instagram this weekend. "Haven’t given you a full ass glam moment in a sec - thanks to get dream team @rokaelbeauty@paulnortonhair@siena ✨❤️," Lovato wrote. She shared a second photo of herself with Ehrich, writing, "Making magic with bae ?✨?❤️"
Lovato and Ehrich got engaged in July after dating for less than five months. "When I was a little girl, my birth dad always called me his “little partner” - something that might’ve sounded strange without his southern cowboy like accent. To me it made perfect sense. And today that word makes perfect sense again but today I’m officially going to be someone else’s partner," she wrote when announcing the news on July 23. "@maxehrich - I knew I loved you the moment I met you. It was something I can’t describe to anyone who hasn’t experienced it firsthand but luckily you did too.. I’ve never felt so unconditionally loved by someone in my life (other than my parents) flaws and all. You never pressure me to be anything other than myself. And you make me want to be the best version of myself. I’m honored to accept your hand in marriage. I love you more than a caption could express but I’m ecstatic to start a family and life with you. I love you forever my baby. My partner. Here’s to our future!!!! ??❤️??"
