Katy Perry Says Her Daughter Daisy 'Changed' Her Life
In August 2020, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom welcomed their first child together, a daughter named Daisy Dove.
"Welcome to the world, Daisy Dove Bloom!," UNCEF wrote then. "We are
honored to introduce Goodwill Ambassadors @KatyPerry and @OrlandoBloom's new bundle of joy. We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter' Katy and Orlando told us."
During an Instagram Live on Friday, Perry updated her fans about how things are going for her as a new parent.
"She changed my life and still continues to change my life," she said, explaining that Daisy is her priority over work. "I think that you realize that when you become a mother…you just have to focus on being a mom. And it's not because you don't love other people, it's not because of anything besides you just want to be a great mom." She added: "So a lot of stuff falls away when you become a mom and it is the best job in the world," she continued. "I highly recommend it when you're ready."
She added that, over the past five months, she's seen many changes in Daisy: "You see time in human form and it's like…Now, she's got chunky cheeks."
Bloom and Perry, who have been engaged since February 2019, have yet to tie the knot (they postponed last year because of COVID-19). Right now, though, they seem pretty pleased to be enjoying their new life as a little family.
A source told Entertainment Tonight that Perry "has been incredible with her daughter and is obsessed with her," adding, "The couple and their love for one another had grown to a level they didn’t even expect since the arrival of their daughter."
COVID-19 told ET that Perry and Bloom have no current plans for their wedding date—for a reason: "There's been no discussion of a new wedding date at the moment. They don't want to put any pressure on themselves about it," a source said. "When they were initially planning their wedding, there was a lot of stress and tension, but now that things are so great between them, they have the mentality of 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it.'"
