Beyoncé Shares Intimate Photos From Her Valentine's Day With Jay-Z, Including a Rare Look at Rumi
Beyoncé is the master of end-of-year photo dumps, posting the bulk of her personal photos around New Year's. But Queen Bey felt generous this Valentine's Day, so she let her fans
see what she did for the holiday right after it happened.
Beyoncé shared an outfit of the day Instagram that also included an intimate look inside her celebration with her husband Jay-Z and their children, nine-year-old Blue Ivy and three-year-old twins Sir and Rumi Carter. The video, which was essentially a photo slide show, included several photos of Beyoncé's chic red and white date night ensemble (she carried a red Alexander McQueen Story shoulder bag with it) and two rare shots of her children. The gifts they and Jay-Z gave Beyoncé were also on display.
Rumi notably appears looking at her Valentine's Day gift bag. Two others sit next to hers, presumably the gifts that Jay-Z and Beyoncé gave Sir and Blue for the holiday. There's a lot to take in here:
Beyoncé spoke toBritish Vogueat the end of 2020 about her family and life in quarantine. Talking to Blue about all that happened in 2020, from the Black Lives Matter movement to the coronavirus pandemic, made her a "better listener," she said.
"Blue is very smart, and she is aware that there is a shift, but it is my job as a parent to do my best to keep her world as positive and safe as can be for an eight-year-old," she said. "My best advice [to parents] is to love them [their children] harder than ever. I let my children know that they are never too young to contribute to changing the world. I never underestimate their thoughts and feelings, and I check in with them to understand how this is affecting them. Blue saw some of the reactions to the 'Brown Skin Girl' video, as well as some of the videos from the philanthropic work I’ve done this year. When I tell her I’m proud of her, she tells me that she’s proud of me and that I’m doing a good job. It’s teeeeeew much sweetness. She melts my heart. I believe the best way to teach them is to be the example."
