Nordstrom partners with Dover Street Market
Apr 7, 2021
Nordstrom is bringing Dover Street Market to its Space section in New York, Los Angelos and Vancouver, as well
as online, in an effort to highlight emerging global designers.
As of Monday, customers can shop all seven of the brands that make up the Comme des Garçons-owned concept store and its emerging talent incubator, including Claire Sullivan’s irreverent Vaquera label, ERL, Youths in Balaclava, Liberal Youth Ministry, Honey Fucking Dijon, Weinsanto, and Rassvet.
Each brand will introduce their spring/summer 2021 collections and bring in a variety of products across womenswear, menswear and gender-neutral styles and accessories. The curated edit will live in dedicated Space concept shops over the next six weeks, which was designed by artist and furniture designer, Marc Hundley.
Nordstrom’s Space boutique is dedicated to advanced and emerging designers, and typically stocks brands such as Comme des Garçons, Jacquemus, Marine Serre, Simone Rocha, Cecilie Bahnsen, Meryll Rogge, Wales Bonner, Chopova Lowena and more.
“We started Space five years ago as a platform to support emerging designers, provide continued newness, and inspire a sense of discovery for the Nordstrom customer,” said Olivia Kim, vice president of creative projects and home at Nordstrom.
“We have a long-standing relationship with the Comme des Garçons and Dover Street Market team, and when we heard that they had created a division to support emerging designers, we knew we had to approach them about this concept as it aligns so closely with our mission.”
This is the first time Dover Street Market Paris has partnered with a retailer for a shop-in-shop experience. As part of the launch, Hundley and the Nordstrom Space team have created a physical and digital Zine to introduce the collaboration and brands to customers with unique editorial content.
“We are thrilled to once again be working with our long-term partners Olivia Kim and the team at Nordstrom on the launch of all seven DSMP brands in their Space,” added James Gilchrist, vice president of Comme des Garçons North America and Dover Street Market North America.
“It is so exciting to have these seven wonderfully creative and diverse talents introduced to the world of Nordstrom."
