Texworld Evolution to hold a second showroom from July 5 to 9
Deprived of a trade show at Le Bourget, Paris at the start of the
year, Texworld Evolution instead opted for a Parisian showroom accompanied by an online event. The event’s organiser Messe Frankfurt has announced that this format will be extended to its edition from July 5 to 9, which will feature an expanded offer.
Messe Frankfurt France’s president Frédéric Bougeard told us in February that he was committed to holding a physical event in July. The first Texworld Evolution showroom attracted around 500 buyers who made 3,235 sample requests and order placements of-site. Held at the Atelier Richelieu (on 60, rue de Richelieu, Paris IIe), the showroom brought together 2,600 products, two thirds of which were materials, selected from 75 predominantly Asian manufacturers.
For its upcoming edition, dedicated to the autumn/ winter 2022 season, the organiser has promised an enhanced offer both in terms of materials produced by Texworld exhibitors as well as finished products at the Apparel Sourcing trade show. As with its past February edition, “buyers will be welcomed by invitation in order to ensure a suitable flow of visitors,” said Messe Frankfurt.
Upon arrival, visitors will once again be equipped with a digital tablet programmed to facilitate direct contact with manufacturers. This will enable them to communicate expressions of interest, sample requests, and quotes.
“We carried out the [February] showroom with 70% of what we knew how to do, such as trend forums, and 30% following concepts that we had to invent, such as libraries of materials and products,” Frédéric Bougeard told FashionNetwork.com in February. It was carried out “looking for opportunities rather than constraints,” according to Bougeard, who also mentioned the possibility that the showroom could eventually find a place within the Texworld Evolution trade shows when they can be held again, the most recent edition having been held in February, 2020.
