On Brand Profile, we take a closer look at our featured brands and all their trendy fashion offerings. We started with the ever-popular chuu, and this time, we give you the 411 on rolarola, a well-known favorite among Korean celebs!

About rolarola

   

Founded in 2017 in South Korea, rolarola’s concept is grounded in three Hs: Happy, Healthy and Humorous. The brand creates quirky and dynamic styles for youth and young adults to promote a fun, joyful and healthy lifestyle.

The brand is split into three collections: Daily Life, Swim Life and Fitness Life. Daily Life’s women fashion items range from colorful, casual basics and preppy-luxe co-ord sets, to kitschy vintage pieces starring “Rola Bear” and “Rola Rabbit” characters and cozy outerwear like anorak sweatshirts and leopard fleece jackets. The Daily Life collection also includes bags, hats, socks and tech accessories like phone cases and AirPods case covers. Particularly dreamy is rolarola’s assortment of bags, which includes embroidered tote bags, crossbody sling bags, mini pouches, crochet bucket bags and shoulder bags.

The Swim Life collection consists of swimsuits, rash guards and board shorts as well as sunglasses and hair accessories.

Whether you enjoy yoga, tennis or skateboarding, the Fitness Collection has you covered with activewear like leggings, bike shorts, sports bras, tennis skirts, active tanks, crew neck crop tops and hoodies.

rolarola’s Other Labels

   

The Korean fashion brand’s second label R:LOL features street-style clothing and accessories in simple designs and oversized fits, suitable for both men and women. The label’s tagline is “Anyone, anywhere, anytime.” Cosmetic brand ikeike − a name that comes from a repetition of the phrase “I like myself” − focuses on individuality, charm and natural beauty, emphasizing that we are beautiful the way we are.

Creative Collaborations

 

In October 2020, rolarola announced its first collaboration with German confectionary maker Haribo, a match made in heaven for the uber-sweet fashion brand. In June 2021, rolarola embraced its youthful spirit by collaborating with the beloved cartoon character My Melody. The rolarola x My Melody collection includes T-shirts, pajamas, socks, mini pouches, mask straps, cardholders, photo albums, phone cases and phone stands.

aespa’s Karina wore a classy contrast-trim cardigan on Korean variety show After Dad Falls Asleep, as well as a square-neck denim dress on Kim Shin-young’s radio show Noon Song of Hope. The versatile dress was clearly a hit, as it was also spotted on OH MY GIRL’s Arin in a TikTok video!

 

On her last day as an MC for Music Bank, OH MY GIRL’s Arin donned this blue zip-up ribbed cardigan but without its faux fur collar for a more low-key vibe.

Fellow OH MY GIRL member YooA has been known to rep rolarola too, rocking a checkered light blue cardigan in an Instagram post. She styled the cardigan with a matching blue headband while posing on a rooftop.

 

Likewise, GFriend’s Sowon proved that with the right clothes, you can make anywhere your runway. She snapped Instagram pics in a stairwell while clad in a blue and gray gradation knit dress and matching gradation bolero knit. If you’re planning to cop this look, why not complete it with a matching label applique gradation beanie?

 

Many other K-pop stars have displayed their love for the brand on their Instagram account, including Red Velvet’s Seulgi, who modeled a My Melody T-shirt and chained phone case in mirror selfies taken at home.

 

WJSN’s Exy took to the group’s Instagram account to post selfies in this gray cat print T-shirt, while ITZY’s Yuna was spotted in the white version of this short-sleeve T-shirt in the group’s Mafia in the Morningdance practice video. Yuna was also seen in a pastel tie-dye sweater on an episode of Weekly Idol. Part of rolarola’s Snug Club selection, this sweater pairs perfectly with a pastel faux fur bucket hat!

   

Another ITZY member who’s a big fan, Chaeryeong showed off an iconic rolarola item when ITZY appeared on the variety show After Dad Falls Asleep. Her yellow hoodie features multicolored “ROLA” embroidered lettering, as well as a reminder to “Always be with friends. Have fun. Play hard.” The pastel logo hoodie also comes in ivory, pink and gray. WJSN’s Exy had on the ivory version while serving as a temporary MC for the variety show Fact in Star. In a New Year’s Resolution video on her personal YouTube channel, AKMU’s Lee Su-hyun was clothed in the pink version, which perfectly embodied her bubbly energy.

Korean actresses have also been costumed in rolarola for K-Dramas.

 

In Penthouse 3, Kim Hyun-su’s character Bae Ro-na added a personal touch to her school uniform by opting for a pink checkered cropped cardigan instead of the standard blazer.

In Nevertheless, Han So-hee’s character Yoo Na-bi is an art student usually in relaxed apparel like hoodies, T-shirts and denim jackets. However, in a flashback with her ex-boyfriend, she was dressed in this simple and elegant white shirt dress – a perfect choice for a date.

  

Also set in college is My Roommate is a Gumiho. In the drama, Yang Hye-sun (a recent gumiho-turned-human played by Kang Han-na) showed up to college in a chic and upgraded take on the classic schoolgirl look. The get-up comprised of a belted brown plaid blazer adorned with “rolarola” embroidery and a matching buckled pleated wrap mini skirt with “Little girls” embroidery.

 

Ahgases may have been surprised to see GOT7’s Jin-young in Yumi’s Cells – but not as shocked as when his character Yoo Ba-bi appeared as a girl! Thankfully, this was only a figment of Yumi’s imagination. Attired in an adorable tie-dye hoodie and tie-dye sweatpants from rolarola, he made for a highly believable girl.
