Romy’s Beauty and Self-Care Wisdom

Romy’s current skin care routine takes a more minimalistic approach in comparison to the K-pop star skin care routine she tried on our IGTV We Tried series. She follows a 6-step routine that includes a double cleanse, toner, hydrating essence, serum, eye cream and moisturizer.

During the day, Romy prefers a lightweight yet refreshing serum containing Vitamin C or niacinamide to help combat dark spots and hyperpigmentation for revitalized skin.

VARI:HOPE – 8 Days Pure Vitamin C Ampoule +, MIZON – Real Vitamin C Ampoule,
Beauty of Joseon – Glow Serum, MARY & MAY – Niacinamide + Chaenomeles Sinensis Serum

In the evening, she opts for a hyaluronic acid or anti-aging serum to repair, nourish and smooth skin.

COSRX – Triple Hyaluronic Moisture Ampoule, Torriden – DIVE-IN Low Molecule Hyaluronic Acid Serum, Haruharu WONDER – Black Rice Hyaluronic Anti-wrinkle Serum, ANACIS – Lithemis Resync Serum

Before popping to bed, Romy attends to her evening skin care routine. On her bedside table she keeps a phone charger, lip balm and hand cream. Romy also lights a candle to help her relax and unwind for sleep.

Fukura – Plastic Phone Desktop Stand, MIGUHARA – Hydrating Lip Balm Treatment,
Logically, Skin – Liftderm Hand Cream, CANDLIA – Fragrance Candle

For a beauty content creator like Romy, self-care is all about looking after your mental and physical health. She loves to go for a run to purge away stress and stimulate creativity. She also recommends a pampering bubble bath to relax the senses.

Sylphlike Loli – Paneled Sports Leggings, Sylphlike Loli – Plain Sports Bra,
Aramoy – Zip Sports Jacket, Aramoy – Lettering Print Sports Towel

Ellie NATURALS – Deep Relax Bath Salt, SWATi – Salt Scrub & Treatment Anise Blooming In Mountains, Cow Brand Soap – Bubble & Aroma Bath Salt , BEYOND – Body Healing Bubble Bath

Romy can spend hours doing her self-care routine every Sunday. She’ll light a scented candle, put on a sheet mask and then simply relax. After the mask sesh, she gives herself a gentle facial massage using a guasha and nourishing face oil.

CANDLIA – Fragrance Candle, OSEQUE – Pure Noble Water Mineral Mask Set,
THE PURE LOTUS – Rose Quartz Guasha

Romy’s best-kept beauty secret − a tip from her mother − is to never ever pick or pop a pimple. Despite her constant battle with hormonal acne, she’s stood by this rule and, as a result, there are no acne scars on her skin. During a breakout, she uses gentle and hydrating skin care and spot treatments to alleviate some of the inflammation.

RAWQUEST – Echinacea Calming Moisture Toner, DERMATORY – Pro Hyal Shot Moisture Peeling Pad, NARD – Tea Tree Calming Moisture Serum, BADSKIN – Ssuk Bomb Calming Moisture Cream

If you need to conceal an inflamed pimple, Romy recommends pimple patches. She’s a longtime fan of COSRX’s Acne Pimple Master Patch, which she’s been using for years. Her ultimate tip is to apply the pimple patch only when the spot is on the verge of popping.

COSRX – Master Patch Basic Full Size

What would you bring if you were stranded on a deserted island for a week? Romy would bring her essential skin care to keep her mind and skin calm, including a cleanser, moisturizer and, most importantly, SPF.

HYGGEE – pH Hyaluron Gel Cleanser, Muldream – All Green Mild All-In-One Moisturizer,
enough project – Sunscreen

As a travel enthusiast, Romy never skimps on taking care of her skin during long-haul flights. Her go-to on-flight essentials to prevent jet-lagged skin include a mega-hydrating sheet mask and a ceramide serum or moisturizer. Post-flight, she prefers a hydrogel mask to restore moisture in skin.

Dr. Jart+ – Dermask Water Jet Vital Hydra Solution, THE PLANT BASE – Quesera Ceramide, numbuzin – No. 2 Real Ceramide Cream, PETITFEE – CACAO Energizing Hydrogel Face Mask Set
