I’ve always been a fan of honey-infused skin care. Boasting anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and
antioxidant effects, honey is the holy-grail ingredient for mature and sensitive skin like mine. That’s why I was immediately intrigued by VT’s Progloss series when I saw that the products contain Gold Honey-Benone™ – a mix of gold, honey and idebenone. I tried the series’ foam cleanser, sheet mask, capsule mask and sleeping mask in hopes of soothing and plumping up my winter dry skin.

VT – Progloss Foam Cleanser
Key ingredients: Gold Honey-Benone™ to moisturize and brighten skin and boost its resilience, matricaria flower extract to exfoliate, royal jelly extract to revitalize skin, and tamanu oil for added nourishment
How I feel: The gigantic 300ml size is an advantage – it should last at least two months before I need to replenish my supply. But first things first, the formula needs to suit my skin. I have no complaints about its subtle sweet scent and initial feeling on skin. The golden creamy paste easily lathers into soft bubbles after a few splashes of water. It also cleanses well, leaving skin free from sebum, blackheads, grime and residue after rinsing. My only concern is that my skin felt a bit tight after use, so I had to complement it with a super moisturizing serum right after.
Progloss Mask Set
Key ingredients: Gold Honey-Benone™ to moisturize and brighten skin and boost its resilience, red and green propolis extracts for anti-inflammatory benefits, royal jelly to revitalize skin, and marine collagen to plump up skin
How I feel: Each pack contains six individual sheet masks. I’ve tried so many sheet masks, and I have to say this one is above average. The mask is drenched in a faintly golden essence. There’s so much leftover essence that I could cover my entire body with it. The fit is perfect for my face, and the fabric doesn’t feel cheap. It adheres closely and helps to effectively transfer the essence into skin, leaving it refreshed, hydrated, plump and radiant. I also like that the essence isn’t sticky or heavily fragranced. The presence of gold powder made me feel like Cleopatra!
Progloss Capsule Mask Set
Key ingredients: Gold Honey-Benone™ to moisturize and brighten skin and boost its resilience, propolis extract for antibacterial benefits, royal jelly to revitalize skin, gluconolactone to exfoliate, and marigold flower extract to soothe skin
How I feel: Each pack contains ten individual mask packs. The single-use cups are easy to carry for travel purposes, but I usually can’t finish an individual pack in one go and have to transfer the leftover into a small jar. Among all four products I tried from the Progloss range, this one is the most photogenic. The golden pack is glossy, gooey and absolutely glittery. It’s sure to generate a bunch of likes on IG. While I was expecting it to dry up like a peel-off mask (the instructions claim it dries in 10-15 minutes), it really didn’t, so I decided to rinse it off after an hour. At first I was a little annoyed by the golden shimmer, which still remained after rinsing twice, but luckily it was a very refined glow that didn’t look too obvious. The mask leaves a hydrating, radiant finish and makes skin look more energized.
Progloss Sleeping Mask Set
Key ingredients: Gold Honey-Benone™ to moisturize and brighten skin and boost its resilience, propolis extract for antibacterial benefits, royal jelly to revitalize, and bee pollen extract to condition skin
How I feel: Each pack contains 20 individual sachets. Again, I tend to save up leftovers for future use. This mask is the most moisturizing of the three; it might feel a tad heavy for those with oily skin. Nonetheless, it delivers what it claims – fresh, soft and dewy skin. Like the sheet mask and capsule mask, it also features gold flecks, but the product is so glossy that you can barely see them with the naked eye. As a safety measure for my sensitive skin, I always wash it off before sleep.
The Verdict
Overall, I’m satisfied with the Progloss series except for the cleanser, which left my skin feeling a bit tight. None of the products irritated my skin, and they’re absolutely adorable in terms of packaging, scent and texture. I reckon I’ll use the capsule mask when my skin lacks luster, the sleeping mask when my skin feels dry, and the sheet mask whenever I want.
There’s still one Progloss product I haven’t covered – the Progloss Bubble Sparkling Booster – which is a golden foaming wash-off mud mask containing Gold Honey-Benone™, macadamia seed oil and ceramide to moisturize skin while sloughing off dead skin cells. I can’t wait to try it out too!
