I DEW CARE’s Yogi Kitten Cleanser, Serum and Clay Mask for Oily and Blemish-Prone Skin

Estimated Reading Time: 2 minutes

My fellow editors have been showing a lot of love for I DEW CARE via their reviews lately. With the brand’s tagline “CEO of Seriously Fun Skincare” and colorful packaging that lives up to its name, I couldn’t resist trying the products as well! A sister brand to Pony Effect, I’M MEME and Nooni, I DEW CARE offers gluten-free, cruelty-free and vegan products. Its Yogi Kitten line for oily, irritated and blemish-prone skin is best suited for my skin type.

Housed in gorgeous teal and pink packaging, the line’s Namaste Kitten Clarifying Cannabis Sativa (Hemp) Seed Oil Cleanser, Juicy Kitten Purifying Power-Green Serum and Yoga Kitten Balancing Heartleaf Clay Mask all feature detoxifying heartleaf extract. Read on to see how this balancing and calming trio fared on my oily, blemish-prone skin!

Namaste Kitten Clarifying Cannabis Sativa (Hemp) Seed Oil Cleanser

In addition to heartleaf extract, this cleanser is enriched with antioxidant-rich hemp seed oil to nourish skin with fatty acids, as well as maritime pine bark extract to hydrate skin and refine the complexion. It’s designed for daily use both day and night. To use, lather a small amount with wet hands and massage onto dampened face, rinsing with warm water.

This cleanser reminded me of toothpaste due to its thick gloopy texture and bright green color. But instead of toothpaste’s usual minty scent, it has a mild, earthy smell. A little product goes a long way, so you only need a pea-sized amount to create a good lather. Once lathered up, it loses its green color and creates fine white bubbles. It left my skin feeling clean and refreshed, but was on the drying side. Thankfully, using the moisturizing serum immediately afterward was the perfect fix.

Juicy Kitten Purifying Power-Green Serum

This serum features I DEW CARE’s Power-Green Juice Blend that includes kale leaf, spirulina and chlorella, ingredients rich in nutrients and antioxidants. It’s further infused with purifying moringa seed extract and soothing centella asiatica extract. Like the cleanser, it’s recommended for daily use.

Because of its rather thin and watery consistency, I was worried the serum would slip right off my face, but it actually coats skin surprisingly well. It comes in a diluted green color with a slightly sour, fruity and floral scent, which can probably be attributed to its plethora of extracts ranging from melia azadirachta flower to sugarcane, ivy gourd, eggplant and turmeric.

The serum went on smoothly and left my skin feeling moisturized and looking glowy. Though it had a somewhat sticky finish, it was quickly absorbed into skin due to its lightweight texture. I prefer a more deeply hydrating serum for nighttime use, but it’s an easy-breezy pick for the daytime.

Yoga Kitten Balancing Heartleaf Clay Mask

The clay mask contains eucalyptus to balance blemish-prone skin and kaolin to absorb excess oil. To use, apply on skin after cleansing. After 10 minutes, rinse off with lukewarm water while massaging in a circular motion. For oily skin, the recommended usage is two to three times a week, while those with sensitive skin should only use it one to two times a week.

I love a good clay mask because I find them to be effective in controlling my oily skin. Clay masks are also more convenient to use than sheet masks since they won’t move around or slip off. As a result, I was super excited to try this clay mask. Off the bat, I loved its herbal scent which reminded me of delicious rosemary focaccia. There were some hardened chunks in the pot, but the mask mostly went on very smoothly and didn’t feel too thick or gloopy on skin. It was so gentle, quick-drying and comfortable that I forgot I had anything on my skin, freely doing whatever I wanted during the 10-minute wear time. After washing it off, my skin felt smooth, cleansed and refined.

Overall Thoughts

I found all three products quite low-maintenance and easy to add to my skin care routine. The Namaste Kitten cleanser was my least favorite of the three because I felt like it stripped my skin of moisture in the cleansing process. In contrast, the Juicy Kitten serum was pleasantly moisturizing. It helped my skin feel balanced and revitalized but wasn’t as soothing as expected. Finally, the Yoga Kitten clay mask was my favorite, as it had the most drastic effects in calming my oily and blemish-prone skin.
