Fall Must-haves According to the Experts!

Meet The Stylist: Michaela Leitz

Trend: Layers Upon Layers

Meet Michaela Leitz (www.confidence-style.com), a plus size stylist and influencer in Frankfurt, Germany. Her motto is “I dress your soul, not your size!” Leitz is an image consultant passionate about helping other women find confidence, their own personal style, and the courage to try new and exciting trends.

When asked for her Fall must-haves, this expert fashionista replied, “This Fall is all about coziness and relaxed looks.”

Her go-to trend: “Layering looks (such as) cardigans worn under coats with blouses and then worn under sweater vests are THE trend this year. This look is very easy for anyone to adapt to – with an option to take it off or put it on.”

She continues by saying, “Every styled piece that is knitted – sweaters, skirts, or cardigans, are the go-to for this season!”

Her favorite look: Michaela Leitz’s favorite look for the season are high-neck sweater dresses. “Sweater dresses that can be worn fitted, or in a looser look. I prefer those with a cheeky little slit on the side, belted around the waist to flaunt those beautiful curves we ladies got!

Her take on color: Michaela mentioned the Pantone 2021 Color Palette in reference to Fall trends. Illuminating colorsperfectly paired with softer tones (such as yellows accompanied by greys) make this season’s choices “incredibly well-balanced.”

This beauty and fashion bombshell had this to say about Fall must-haves:

“This season is about showing up cozy, in a statement coat such as the quilted puffer jacket (amongst many other trends). The bigger, the better. And, they’re not just black or waist length. Some have a high neck, trains, etc…”

Her go-to trend: Atarah says that vests are back and better than ever this season! “Whether menswear or sweater style, vests can be worn over a button-down, under a blazer, with jeans, or even as a dress.”

She continues to say that “long thick button-down shirts worn as jackets (also known as shackets), and oversized blazers” are also in this season.

Her favorite Fall look: The stylist had a list of favorite looks for the Fall season.“I am in love with the cropped blazer look, especially when paired with a tailored, high-waisted pant or mini skirt. They are a fun yet sophisticated alternative to the traditional workwear style!”

She commented on a massive must for the season, BOOTS!!! “Years ago, as a plus size woman, it was hard to find boots that were not only wide width but also wide/extended calf. Now, I can look to brands like Torrid and Fashion to Figure for the hottest boot styles. I love wearing them over jeans, leggings, or paired with a sweater dress!”

Her take on color: This Fall, our color palettes are getting a fun upgrade! Your normal Fall browns and yellow are being stylishly paired with bold blues, purples, pinks, and reds.” Her favorite Fall color is brown, and proud of it!

She says that the color brown is “an underrated neutral” and speaks of how right now, there is an array of brown shades that can be seen “in almost every plus size retailer’s collection.”
