Dries Van Noten launches exclusive collections with Net-A-Porter and Mr Porter

Dries Van Noten has launched two exclusive  capsule collections with Net-A-Porter and Mr Porter, encompassing over 100 pieces,

which began e-tailing on Monday, May 3.

Focusing on the balmy days of summer, the Belgian-born designer has developed 62 womenswear pieces and 40 menswear pieces to e-tail on the e-commerce platform.
 
“I am honored to launch this selection of garments for summer with Mr Porter and Net-A-Porter. This collection has an optimistic attitude that reflects a carefree, relaxed day at the beach with friends. A state of mind we all need these days and may soon even be a reality,” said Van Noten.

In womenswear, Dries developed an array of lightweight poplins, jerseys, terry and mesh knits in his signature bright prints and patterns, along with upbeat alongside accessories and shoes in geometric shapes.
 
To celebrate the launch Van Noten will appear in the May issue of the e-tailer’s digital title Porter, explaining his inspiration, ideas for the next decade and lessons he believes we can all learn from the past year.
 
“We are thrilled to be partnering with Dries Van Noten on his first venture into high summer. It is a truly optimistic, fun and bright collection, and a perfect representation of Dries’ carefree vision for the season,” added Lea Cranfield, chief buying and merchandising ffficer of Net-A-Porter.
 
For men, Van Noten dreamed up floaty camp-collar and classic patterned shirts; loose-fitting T-shirts and hoodies; drawstring shorts and swim shorts alongside high-summer accessories.
 
“Dries Van Noten is one of the most celebrated designers in our industry, and are honored to partner with him and the Dries Van Noten team on an exclusive capsule collection,” said Mr Porter Buying Director Sam Kershaw.
 
All the looks and accessories began e-tailing today on the two luxury retailers, which is controlled by Richemont, the world’s third-largest luxury conglomerates that includes Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Chloé and Azzedine Alaïa. Van Noten is part of the extended chain of fashion brands controlled by the Puig that includes Paco Rabanne, Nina Ricci and Carolina Herrera.
