The first collections — which will include both sunglasses and optical frames – will be presented for the SS22 season with a store debut in January 2022. It will target both men and women.

The deal involves the design, manufacture and distribution of Dsquared2 branded products.

Safilo CEO Angelo Trocchia said the link-up with Dsquared2 “represents a great brand addition to our portfolio and a significant opportunity to grow in the fashion luxury segment. Dean and Dan Caten’s great stylistic talent, combined with the high market appreciation of this very distinctive brand, which is complementary to the other prestigious brands already present in our portfolio, will ensure excellent results over the years, thanks to the synergy of Safilo’s unique capabilities and Dsquared2’s unconventional and innovative style.”

Meanwhile, the Catens added that eyewear is a “very important product category” for the label and that the new deal should help it “further strengthen our position in the segment.”
