Moschino has revealed that it will be making its debut on the official New York Fashion
Week schedule this September.
The Milan-based luxury brand will show the Spring/Summer 2022 collection designed by its creative director, Jeremy Scott, on Thursday, September 9, at an as yet unspecified location in the American fashion capital.
Moschino traditionally shows its womenswear collections in its hometown of Milan, during the city’s fashion week. However, in recent years it has chosen to host runways for its Resort collections in different locations around the world.
Between 2016 and 2019, the brand’s Spring menswear collection and women’s Resort collection showed in Los Angeles, where Scott, who joined Moschino as creative director in 2013, is based. January 2019 saw the label present its Fall menswear and women’s Pre-Fall collections in Rome.
And although September will mark Moschino’s first appearance on the official New York Fashion Week schedule, it won’t be the first time that the label is showing in the city. The brand hosted an off-calendar coed show to unveil its men’s Fall and women’s Pre-Fall 2020 collections at the New York Transit Museum in December 2019, while in October 2018 it took over Pier 36 to present its collaboration with fast-fashion retailer H&M.
New York Fashion Week runs September 8 through 12 and will see the return of a number of physical events after two largely digital seasons. Brands that have already revealed plans for live runway shows this season include Pyer Moss, Gabriela Hearst, Markarian and Jonathan Simkhai.
Other NYFW regulars, including Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors and Ralph Lauren, are yet to confirm their participation.
