J. Cole is set to undergo a surprising career change, being the latest team member for the African basketball team, the Rwanda Patriots. Reports say that J. Cole is currently completing a two-week quarantine in Rwanda to compete in the Basketball Africa League, with an official announcement of his signing to come soon. J Cole Africa basketball.
Although primarily known for his music, Cole originally pursued a career as a basketball player in high school and university. He played for both Sanford High in North Carolina and the St. John’s Red Storm in New York before ultimately shifting his focus to hip-hop full-time in 2007.
2. Nigeria: Sound Sultan speaks up following throat cancer rumor
Nigerian veteran singer Sound Sultan broke the silence after rumors circulated that he had throat cancer. News of the singer being diagnosed with throat cancer began to circulate following a report by Sahara Reporters on the 12th of May. Sound Sultan has, however, put up an Instagram post where he is pictured with his family in the spirit of Eid.
He said, “Eid Mubarak to my lovely Muslim brothers and sisters. May Almighty Allah accept our fast as an act of Ibadah. Instagram !!! This is not the one with ram. I must not ignore the massive show of love. Thank you all. I will tell you my story myself it will be true THEN not false.”
3. South Africa: Master KG goes triple platinum with hit song ‘Jerusalema’

Musician Master KG continues to fly the SA flag high after going triple platinum in Switzerland with his global hit “Jerusalema.” Master KG’s international star power hasn’t faded as this is the second time his resounding hit has gone triple platinum. Taking to Twitter, the star posted a snap of the plaque with three platinum discs. This achievement drew lots of praises from fans and colleagues.

4. Ghana: Uber, Bolt, Yango drivers in Kumasi suspend services over life-threatening incidents
Drivers of ride-hailing service companies in the Ashanti region have suspended their services over what they say are life-threatening incidents. The angry members of the Online Drivers Association say some of their members have been killed, and others maimed while carrying out their duties. They say this is because the apps through which their services are requested do not guarantee their safety.
In protest, the drivers parked their cars and converged at Ahodwo Roundabout in Kumasi on Tuesday, May 11, to register their displeasure on the matter. The drivers who demonstrated include those working for Uber, Bolt, and Yango.
5. Ronaldo becomes fastest player to reach 100 Juventus goals
Cristiano Ronaldo has become the fastest player in Juventus history to reach 100 goals with the club. Ronaldo reached the mark by scoring just before half-time against Sassuolo in Serie A action on Wednesday, giving his side a two-goal lead heading into the break.
The Portugal star has netted 100 goals in 131 games for Juventus and has become the first Juve player to ever do so in less than three seasons.
