Well-known Ibiza boutique Revolver has launched an own-brand collection for the first time. The brand
name is spelt reVOLVER on its logo and the new line adapts this style with the name re:001, which launches exclusively in its boutique and webstore this week. Plans are in place to widen distribution in the future.
Founders Catherine and Jean-Paul Sanchez created the pieces but worked with British designer Cat van Baal as design director for the line that’s been positioned “at the crossroads of minimalist avant garde, sports-luxe and an Ibizan-inspired aesthetic”.
It features 10 women’s styles and 12 for men with prices starting from €79 and rising to €325.
The company said the offer is trans-seasonal and breaks free “from the convention and waste of the SS and AW cycle”. Instead, the retailer will drop a single collection each year.
The standout pieces include abstracted prints and day-to-night looks in the monochrome palette for which the store is famous.
Jean-Paul Sanchez said the trio “set out to capture the unique spirit of Ibiza. Across all the island’s many personalities, the one constant is being ‘free’, a mental and physical freedom that liberates the soul”.
The focus was on sustainablity throughout with production close to home in Portugal, while all packaging and labels are 100% recycled. Over 60% of the line is made of organic cotton and Better Cotton Initiative-approved yarns, plus low-emission Viscose Ecovera and low-water-use Tencel.
Catherine Sanchez said she and Jean-Paul opened the boutique in 2008 “in the shadows of the global financial crisis and are now launching the Revolver brand in the shadows of a global health pandemic. Perhaps it’s Ibiza’s ‘free spirit’ that allows us to push on regardless”.
