Three years ago a large wagon of blue utility wire showed up on my neighbors lawn. I eyed it up for weeks wondering what I could with that much wire so
I asked my neighbor if I could take some of the wire. He said yes and that was when I begun my first project, The Big Blue Nest, using the wire.
I wanted to see how many ways I could utilize the wire - from making sculptures to making portraits using the wire. I used photography to make art from art I had made from other materials mainly the wire from my neighbor. It was a huge challenge since creating the sculptures was intensive and time consuming and then making that art into a photograph which had its own life was even more difficult.
Though the process was difficult it was for me a great way to express my ideas in way that were clear to me.
I feel like I have really matured as an artist.
