Naomi Campbell is now a mother. The legendary model revealed on her Instagram this morning that she welcomed her first child, a baby girl, at the age of 50.
Campbell
posted a photo of her holding her newborn's feet. “A beautiful little blessing has chosen me to be her mother so honored to have this gentle soul in my life there are no words to describe the lifelong bond that I now share with you, my angel. There is no greater love,” Campbell captioned the picture. She also tagged her mother in the celebratory post.
Campbell did not provide information about the date her daughter was born or what her baby girl is named.
The announcement post already has over 300,000 likes so far, along with congratulatory comments from her celebrity friends and fans. Campbell's longtime collaborator and friend Marc Jacobs commented, “Oh my God!!!!! Today is the day?? How absolutely incredible. How lucky she is and how lucky you are! What a wonderful Mother you will be. Blessings all around. ❤️❤️❤️.”
While Campbell kept the news of her expecting a daughter secret until after the baby's birth, the model has been vocal about her interest in someday having children.
In a 2018 interview with Vogue Arabia, Campbell discussed whether she would like to have kids, saying she was open to in the future: “I'd love to have kids. I don't discount anything in life. I love kids and always will. When I’m around children, I become a child myself. That’s the little girl I don’t ever want to lose.”
