Congratulations are in order for Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, who are expecting a baby. The royal family announced this news early Wednesday morning (May 19, 2021), writing
on their official Instagram, “Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are very pleased to announce that they are expecting a baby in autumn of this year. The Queen has been informed and both families are delighted with the news.”
Beatrice is also step-mother to Edoardo's son Christopher, and recently opened up about the special role in The Evening Standard:
"This year, I had the great honor to become a stepmother, and have had the most remarkable time going back over some of my most favorite stories at bedtime. I have dyslexia and as such reading has never been my strongest talent, however, having a little more time to take a moment to really get into stories has been a gift I am happy to have shared with lockdown life."
Meanwhile, Beatrice's sister Eugenie welcomed her son August back in February; Zara Tindall had a baby boy this year, and Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are expecting their daughter anytime now. It truly is a royal baby boom.
