Nigerian Idol: A Dose of Fashion from Last Sunday’s Live Show

Last Sunday’s Nigerian Idol Season 6 live eviction show saw Faith Mac and Dotun exit the competition making Kingdom, Akunna, Faith Jason, Beyonce, Francis, Comfort, Emmanuel, Clinton, and Daniel the Top

9 contestants.

The theme for Sunday night’s show was ‘My Idol,’ and the contestants were tasked with performing a song from any music idol of their choice. Not only did the contestants sing their hearts out, but they also showcased their unique styles on the Nigerian Idol stage. Talk about fashion pressure! The show, which Bigi Drinks and Tecno Mobile sponsor, delivered on glitz and glam.

Here’s a look at the glitz and glam from the Nigerian Idol season 6 live show eviction…

Kingdom

His name says it all. Kingdom dressed up like he was about to rule the stage for the day. He wore traditional attire but with black and white stripes and a touch of yellow. His performance was quite impressive and was deemed ‘emotive’ by Seyi Shay. We’ll have to wait and see how he ‘rules’ the stage next week.

Akunna

The ‘lady in red’ gave us a statement wide-legged sequins corset jumpsuit with a cape complete with diamante jewelry, bringing her whole ensemble together. Akunna showcased her vocal range and an amazing stage presence which was as bold as her outfit. Let’s see what she’ll pull out of the closet next time.

Faith Jason

Faith Jason showed us clothes don’t have to ‘shout’ to be considered trendy or stylish. Simplicity can still make a loud bang. Faith Jason dressed in a burnt orange two-piece attire with a colorful African design at the back of the top. The judges really loved his performance, especially Seyi Shay, so we hope he comes to the next live show with another great fashion piece and performance.

Beyonce

She brought the ‘rock chic’ look to the stage with an off-shoulder puff sleeve corset top, black sequined trousers, and black high heel ankle boots. Beyonce’s style gave off the vibe “I did not come here to play,” and it surely showed in her performance. We can’t wait to see what our very own ‘Beyonce’ will wear this Sunday.

Francis

Looking like an ‘English man,’ Francis wore a trench coat with a scarf tied around his neck. What made his outfit a bit unique was the gold accessory wrapped around his shoulder. Francis survived the elimination night, which was no surprise because of his amazing performance. We shall be seeing more of him next week. Also, did you notice the bumblebee brooch on his coat?

Comfort

Comfort showed off her curves in a sequined blue long sleeve jumpsuit which she emphasized by wearing her hair in a high ponytail. Even though she found it hard to control her emotions after finding out she was still in the competition, her smile still remains her best accessory of that night!

Emmanuel

Emmanuel’s outfit reflected his personality of being playful and unique. He wore a cap that looked similar to that of a Nigerian policeman, a purple top and trouser Co-ord set with a belt to cinch his waist. Let’s not forget the bling bling around his neck and wrist. It looks like a lot is going on there, but as we said, he’s a playful and unique individual. We get to see more of Emmanuel this Sunday.

Clinton

Clinton with the jacket of many prints and colors. His outfit oozed African vibes, which made him stand out on stage. The knitted neckpiece also added a cool flavor to the mix. Clinton was saved last Sunday by the voters and performed John Legend’s‘Tonight.’DJ Sose mentioned he “owned” the song. It looks like he did not only own the song but his outfit as well.

Daniel

What stood out for Daniel was the floral Kimono and shirt set with blue soothing tones, which set the mood for his song choice, ‘Empty Space’ by James Arthur. Despite the polarized views he received from the judges, Daniel made it to the Top 9.

Faith Mac

She gave us a sexy one-shoulder high-slit sequin dress. The color of her dress, which was blue, still stood out despite the blue-hued Nigerian Idol stage. The diamante upper arm cuff bracelet gave her a modern-day Greek goddess look. Oh, the strappy nude heels added a bit of contrast. She definitely exited the stage on a stylish note. Way to go, Faith Mac!

Dotun

Dotun gave us a lilac tie suit Co-ord set, which he did not pair with the typical formal shoes but with white trainers, which shows he wanted to be comfortable enough to give us his full ‘Dotun energy.’ He always came on stage to give his all, but unfortunately, the viewers decided, and he was eliminated from the show.
