It’s only natural for fashion lovers like us to regularly refresh our feeds in search of our weekly dose of inspiration. Last week, African style stars checked all the right and
the sentence is finally in: last week in fashion was all about feminine allure.
Nigerian actress Beverly Osu went both fierce barbie-doll glam and full-on fashion transformer in a feisty mini statement orange number with a double bun hairstyle and edgy smokey eye makeup that spelled out wildly glamorous in all its details.
Award-winning South African actress and DJ Thulisile Phongolo was one shade of sultry glam as she posed in a black gown by Orapeleng Modutle. She wore the embellished sheer number for the 15th annual South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs). This year’s show came in the form of a live, virtual event which had actors and actresses accepting their awards via video messages.
Nollywood actress Grace-Charis Bassey juggled up our fantasy as she lived them out in a dreamy red detailed off-the-shoulder ball gown that could easily pass for a traditional Efik Onyonyo gown. The entire ensemble portrayed dress-up as an absolute festive fairytale, an exploration, a risk—all the favorable things in life.
The looks shared by African celebrities and top fashion influencers last week were nothing short of chic, edgy, and glamorous, and it’s safe to say that we are, as usual, living vicariously through them.
