Gucci is setting up shop in East Hampton on Friday with its first permanent brick-and-mortar location in the area,
according to multiple sources.
Located at 17 Newton Lane, the new two-floor boutique will house both men’s and women’s ready-to-wear collections, alongside shoes, accessories, bags, and more, as well as Gucci Beauty and Gucci Décor. Spanning over 2,000 square feet, it will equally showcase popular capsule collections such as GG Multi and Precious Gems.
As part of the opening, the luxury label is also launching an exclusive capsule only available at the East Hampton location, featuring limited-edition bags and small leather goods offered in an organic jacquard fabric.
Meanwhile, the store's interior is characterized by aqua-colored moire walls, wicker accents, and velvet armchairs, among other decor detailing. The opening comes as Gucci celebrates its 100th anniversary and riffs off its past when it once had a permanent location on Main Street in East Hampton from 2006 to 2009.
Sales at parent company Kering rose by 26 percent in the first quarter of 2021, led by a strong rebound for its star label Gucci. The brand delivered growth in Asia and the United States, which more than offset low sales in Europe caused by ongoing coronavirus lockdowns.
