We aRe Spin Dye (WRSD) has announced a collaboration agreement with international premium fashion giant
Hugo Boss as the latter accelerates its drive towards a more sustainable future.
WRSD said that “Hugo Boss has a clear agenda for how they will gradually become even more sustainable” as the German group targets being climate-neutral by 2050.
One of its intermediate goals is to have reduced total water consumption by 40% by 2025 and WRSD “is expected to be involved [in this] and contribute with competence and technology”.
WRSD is a Swedish fashion tech company and has developed a sustainable dyeing method for synthetics that cuts the environmental impact compared to traditional processes.
The new collab comes after Hugo Boss was listed on the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) World for the fourth year in a row.
It was one of only four companies in the textile, clothing and luxury segment that qualified for the index this year. And it also won a place on the Dow Jones Sustainability Index Europe for the first time. In the assessment carried out by S&P Global, Hugo Boss improved significantly compared with the previous year and received a best-in-class assessment in several categories.
The sustainability drive comes as the company is transforming its operations more widely, Rumoured to be a bid target for both Frasers Group and LVMH, it has pivoted to a stronger casualwear focus in recent periods and is also working to make online a bigger part of its business.
