Scott Disick celebrated his 38th birthday this week, with his ex-girlfriend and the mother of his three children, Kourtney Kardashian, attending his party, along with his new 19-year-old girlfriend, Amelia Hamlin.
But E! reports that Disick still carries a torch for Kardashian—and that there's still “tension” between them as Kardashian has gone all in on her new “serious” romance with Travis Barker.
A source explained, “Kourtney will always be there for Scott no matter what their relationship is, but there is definitely still tension between them. They are great about putting it on for the kids and around the family. When they see each other, they are always cordial and you can tell Scott misses Kourtney a lot. Everyone knows Scott is still in love with her.”
The source added that Kardashian has no interest in being friends with Disick's teenage girlfriend. “Amelia was, of course, invited to his party but her and Kourtney do not necessarily have a relationship,” the source said. “Kourtney is cordial. There's no bad blood, but they just kept to themselves at the party. Kourtney doesn't mind having her around. She's just not looking to get close with her.”
Kardashian and Disick's party reunion comes after E! reported last month that Disick is struggling with seeing Kardashian and Barker so in love because of his own feelings for her. “Scott and Kourtney have a tense relationship right now primarily because he's been focusing on his new life in Miami and because of Kourtney getting serious with Travis,” a source told E! then. “They are barely speaking. It's hard for him to see Kourtney in love with someone else.”
Last year, Disick attempted to reconcile with Kardashian when they were both single. He told her point blank on Keeping Up With the Kardashians, “After we take care of our children, to go to sleep in two different rooms two feet apart, seems stupid to me if two people could work things out. It seems like we do everything else together, but like, the intimacy part that we leave for other people. And then those other people are just jealous of our relationship. And they feel like the only thing they have is the intimacy part, not like, the friendship and everything else and sharing children in life. I love you, so it’s difficult. I feel like for so many years and so long I always thought that we would end up together. And now it’s getting to a point where I’m not really sure if that’s ever gonna happen again. I guess you just have different things then that you want to do with your life.”
Kardashian wouldn't give a forever no to his question but has no interest in reconciling then. As she said in a confessional, “Scott and I have had a lot of conversations over the years about this and he knows what would need to happen in order for this [us reconciling] to even be a possibility, and certain things haven’t happened that I've been very clear about. Just like, my answer isn’t going to change unless his actions change, so I’m hesitant to have that conversation right now.”
